Sensory play is a vital part of a neurodivergent / additional needs child’s day and with more and more children receiving diagnoses and entering into autism classes, education on this topic is required more than ever.
Understanding how to support a child’s emotional regulation needs throughout the school day is a vital component of the child’s wellbeing and ability to learn in educational settings. An unregulated child cannot be taught! Learning how to support their emotional regulation needs will reduce challenging behaviours and allow for a happy, calm and healthy environment.
Our course has been developed especially for SNA’s working in educational settings. Designed to educate on neurodiversity, the importance of sensory play for the children in the classroom and how to successfully engage children in sensory play whilst supporting their regulation requirements. You will learn about effective sensory toys, how to assist and understand children who find transitions difficult, how to build sensory bins that children will use and how to make safe sensory bases and sensory tools.
On completion of the workshop, you will receive a certificate and a downloadable copy of the training.
This training does not qualify you to teach about neurodiversity or sensory play.
