Neurodiversity, Behaviour & Sensory Play – Thursday 18th January

155.00

Thursday 18th January 2024 from 7:30-9:30pm.

Zoom links will be sent out 24 hours before the scheduled training.

This two hour online training workshop has been specifically created for sensory or messy play facilitators in Ireland who want to run classes for neurodivergent children or those with additional needs.

There is now a huge demand for neurodivergent classes and by understanding the behaviours, the benefits and neurodiversity itself you will be able to run understanding, successful and fulfilling classes.

Whilst inclusive classes with neurotypical children can be beneficial, it is much more beneficial that children with additional needs have their own judgement free, understanding and supportive classes to explore sensory play at their own pace.

During the two hours we will cover;

  • Understanding Neurodiversity
  • Understanding autistic & neurodivergent behaviours
  • Understanding how sensory & messy play support development & regulation in neurodivergent children
  • Understanding how the power of play supports the emotional, social, mental and physical wellbeing of neurodivergent children
  • Play set ups that work & using the right materials
  • How to create a safe space for both children & their caregivers
  • Q&A time

On completion of the workshop, you will receive a certificate and a downloadable copy of the training.

This online workshop will be delivered as part of the Little Kneaders Training Academy by Amy, owner of Little Kneaders, who specialises in sensory play for neurodivergent & high support needs children and adults.

Amy is qualified in therapeutic play for neurodivergent children, sensory processing disorder, developmental coordination disorder, autism & sensory processing, sensory play & communication, sensory play & regulation, sensory play for dementia & Alzheimers, sensory play during cancer care. Amy is a registered practitioner of the Complementary Medicine Association and is fully qualified in special needs yoga, touch therapy, story massage, breath work, and mindfulness.
