Short Biography

Amy specialises in supporting neurodiverse children and young adults who are experiencing periods of self harm, suicidal ideation and those who are unable to attend school (school avoidance/refusal) or work through her neuro-affirming therapy.

As a mental health practitioner, primitive reflex practitioner, touch therapist and neurodiversity& sensory specialist, Amy draws on all her expertise to support, nurture and empower her clients through helping them to understand their neurodiverse brains, their emotions, especially in their most intense forms, and how to navigate each emotion using supports & regulation techniques.

Amy understands that for most of her clients, therapy that takes place sitting in a room doesn’t work for most neurodiverse children and adults, so she has adapted her therapy sessions to walks in the local forests around Forth Mountain, allowing for a natural, open and supportive environment that removes eye contact and the stiff structure of four walls, enabling movement, regulation, relaxation and a form of EMDR therapy to take place.

Amy has also developed a range of natural, hand kneaded therapy doughs for children and adults to support their mental wellbeing and provide regulation during their everyday lives. This range is a proud collaboration with GROUND, an Irish company, based in County Cork, who supply the hand blended essential oils for the doughs.

Amy is passionate about ensuring changes are made for neurodiverse children and teenagers within places of education to ensure all children and teenagers are able to receive a meaningful education.
